Healing as Old as the Hills
WHAT IT IS:
• A spore probiotic isolated from soil-based organisms
WHY YOU NEED IT:
• Important for patients trying to limit the damage of antibiotic therapy
• Targets patients with auto-immune diseases such as Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Multiple Sclerosis
• Great for patients with chronic infections (ie…Lyme and co-infections), biotoxin illness, chronic allergies, sinus disease and asthma
• Supports patients with Leaky Gut, Food Intolerances, and SIBO
• Promoted for patients with neurological symptoms including brain fog, vision disturbances, nerve pain/numbness/tingling
HOW IT HELPS:
Scientists have identified more than 2,500 different types of organisms living in our gut. Collectively these ‘good’ bugs contribute to our overall health. From our daily food that we inadvertently share with them, these bacteria can manufacture health-sustaining vitamins and proteins. The healthy bacteria in our intestines also work together to keep disease-causing bugs out. Researchers have identified at least 24 different substances made by our healthy bacteria populations that naturally kill bad bacteria that mean us harm.
As some 70% of our immune system lines the intestinal tract, these beneficial organisms can also help regulate our immune system so that it is in state of perfect harmony and strength. The good bugs are actively communicating with our immune system to teach immune cells which targets to attack. This process is called immune tolerance. After all, we want our immune system to attack harmful bacteria, but not our joints, brains, or even harmless pollen that lands in our nose or sinuses. When the immune system attacks the wrong targets, diseases can develop like auto-immune condition and chronic allergies.
Unfortunately, as we navigate this toxic planet, our birthright of a healthy intestinal biome of good bacteria is under constant attack: attack from prescription antibiotics that we take for ourselves and consume in our diet. Approximately 80% of all manufactured antibiotics are fed to farm animals, and when we eat these animals, we inadvertently consume these unnecessary antibiotics, too.
Fortunately, Nature usually provides an antidote to most of our human stupidity. Certain bacteria are capable of hibernating in the form of a spore, a nearly impervious and indestructible shell. Think of spores like the seeds of a plant, waiting in a cocoon of protection until the right combination of factors triggers sprouting. So, too, bacterial spores will not germinate until their local environment provides the signals that they have landed in a safe, nurturing space, like your intestines. Some bacterial spores found in the soil have been dated to 50 million years old.
Bacillus is a particular type of spore forming bacteria found naturally in the dirt. This particular species of bacteria can help restore and maintain a healthy intestinal biome and immune system. Bacillus bacteria have been shown to reduce total body inflammation, provide critical support to healthy gut bacterial colonies, and kick out ‘bad’ bacteria that mean us harm.
That’s pretty smart for a bacterium and may have you thinking twice before you refer to someone as being ‘Dumb as dirt.’
PayDirt! is a special type of probiotic that contains four species of soil-based, spore-forming Bacillus bacteria. Each of these four healthy bacteria have been scientifically studied and demonstrated to provide important support for human health.
Representing a breakthrough in probiotic technology and broad effectiveness, PayDirt! is on my personal list of daily supplements, and I humbly suggest that it be given a spot on yours.
Usual dosage: Take one to two capsules of PayDirt! preferably after meals, twice daily. In general, probiotics should always be taken after or with food for maximum effectiveness.
